Peace embroidery has its origin in Sweden, where in 2011 the embroidery group “Broderiakademin” from southern Sweden organises a peace embroidery for the first time. A manifesto has been published that will lead to more peace, social justice and solidarity with all embroidering sisters and brothers around the world.
The injustice is particularly evident in the textile sector, where many garments offered in the West are made by people who work under very poor conditions, with low wages, too long working hours and in an environment that is often harmful to health.

The 2019 motif for peace embroidery is a peace house, again designed by Ingrid Eggimann-Jonsson. But you are free to embroider your own motif. – While embroidering, we are part of a joyful and creative peace movement!
Participation in peace embroidery is free. Bring your own food, the drinks will be provided by Zürcher Stalder AG.

Exhibition of peace embroideries: 3 – 24 November 2019
Please send the embroideries by 25 October 2019 to Zürcher Stalder AG, Gewerbestrasse 9, CH-3421 Lyssach, Switzerland.

For participants from the EU: you can send your embroidery to the address below: Textile Crafts UG, Untere Dorfstrasse 36B, DE-79618 Rheinfelden, Germany
